How does ordering work?
We operate on a weekly order cycle! Orders open Saturday/Sunday and close Wednesday/Thursday so we know exactly what to prep. This isn't a "show up and hope we have food" situation - we make exactly what's been ordered, so you're guaranteed to get your plate lunch!
When and where is pickup?
When: Sundays only, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Where: Our house in Crozet! We'll send you the address when you order. Just come to the front door and knock - we'll have your order ready to go. You'll probably smell the chicken grilling outside, which is totally intentional marketing on our part.
Do you actually have a food truck?
Nope! We're a food "truck" that's permanently parked in our driveway (aka our house). We call ourselves a food truck because it sounds way cooler than "couple cooking out of their kitchen," but we're totally upfront about it. Think of it as a food truck experience without the truck - all the good food, none of the hunting around town to find us.
How do I pay?
Venmo only! We'll send you our Venmo info when you place your order. Easy peasy.
What if I'm late for my pickup time?
No worries! The 2-hour window is pretty flexible. If you're running late, just shoot us a text and we'll make sure your food stays warm. We're not drill sergeants about timing - life happens!
Can you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?
Sorry, we can't accommodate allergen-free requests right now! We're operating out of our home kitchen and don't have the setup to prevent cross-contamination. Here's what's in our food:
- Chicken Marinade: Contains soy (soy sauce) and sesame (sesame oil)
- Mac Salad: Contains gluten (pasta), dairy (milk, mayo), and eggs (mayo)
- Coconut Rice: Contains coconut (tree nut allergen for some)
- Cross-contamination risk: All items prepared in same kitchen
We want to be totally upfront about this - if you have food allergies, we're probably not the safest option for you right now. But hey, maybe someday when we get that actual food truck with separate prep areas!
How fresh is the food?
Everything is made fresh for pickup day! The mac salad is actually better when made ahead (it lets the flavors get to know each other), the rice stays warm in our rice cooker, and we grill your chicken fresh when you arrive. You'll literally smell it cooking as you walk up - that's not an accident!
Do you cater events?
We'd consider it! Right now we're focused on our weekly neighborhood operation, but if you have an event in mind, reach out and we can chat about it. Fair warning: we're still figuring out how to manage 30-40 plates on Sundays, so we're not ready for your 200-person wedding just yet.
Is your packaging eco-friendly?
Yes! All our packaging is 100% recyclable because we care about Mother Earth (and also because we tried non-recyclable containers once and felt personally attacked by every sea turtle documentary). Your plate lunch comes in recyclable containers, so you can feel good about feeding both your belly and your conscience. Just toss everything in the recycling bin when you're done - the planet will thank you, and so will we!
